We thought it would be a good idea to tell the story of how our famous Montrose Rope & Sail offshore bags are made. Then we thought it would be good to show how our company continues our 200 year tradition of producing hand crafted, quality products.
Derick Macleod from the Isle of Lewis has announced that his blue Montrose Rope and Sail kitbag is going into retirement after racking up an impressive 13 years of offshore service. It has done many a trip to Brazil, Mozambique and it’s last couple of years were spent back and forth from Tanzania, as well as the odd trip to Norway, Aberdeen and exotic Peterhead.
We’re now selling our Jura Kitbag Family as one set of bags. This includes 1 of each size in the range.
Our 3 piece holdall set is available in 14″, 18″ and 24″. You will get three durable bags to suit the whole family for a whole host of activities.
Our waterproof PVC material make these bags ideal for swimming classes or gym kit. And because the PVC is of such a high grade, you’re getting a high level of durability, so they can thrive as a work gear bag in the harshest of conditions. Originally our bags were designed for offshore use, and we’re still creating them to this high standard today.
On a practical level, these bags are ideal for travel when compared to bulky, stiff-framed suitcases, and can easily be packed away into the car boot.
Due to the current circumstances and uncertain challenging times, we have closed our manufacturing workshop at Montrose Rope and Sail ltd until further notice.
With being a family run business based in Montrose, the health and wellbeing of our staff, their families and our wider community is of utmost importance to us.
As our products are essentially made to order and all hand manufactured under our roof in Montrose, we have also closed our online shop until further notice.
We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and we will let you know when we are back up and running again.
Stay well & Stay safe.
